On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Executive Director Katie O’Malley represented the Women’s Law Center of Maryland at the Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center (MCVRC) Town Hall and Resource Fair in Baltimore County. Held at the Owings Mills branch of the Baltimore County Public Library, the event brought together service providers, advocates, and community members for an evening of meaningful dialogue and resource-sharing all in support of survivors of crime.
This annual gathering, now in its fourth year, is part of MCVRC’s broader Make a Difference initiative. While previous events have included walks and healing pavilions, the Baltimore County edition focused on creating space for local voices and connecting attendees with critical services in their own community.
The Women’s Law Center of Maryland was proud to stand alongside our fellow resource partners, offering information about our legal services, protection order advocacy, and support for victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
Katie O’Malley shared her appreciation for MCVRC’s leadership:
“Events like this one make a real difference. They remind us that healing happens through connection and that survivors deserve not just to be heard, but to be supported with dignity, respect, and resources.”
With a livestreamed Town Hall and dozens of partners on-site, the evening highlighted the strength of a community working together to center victims’ rights, build awareness, and inspire change.
We’re grateful to the Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center for their unwavering commitment to justice and healing, and we look forward to continuing our work together to uplift and protect Maryland’s most vulnerable.
